2021 MOONSPRINGS
Tucked amid the westernmost hillsides of the Templeton Gap District, Moonsprings is Paso Robles’ newest superstar vineyard. Owners O’Neal and Lynn Gray spared no expense in the conception, planting and execution of Moonsprings Vineyard, where warm summer days are tempered by brisk marine breezes that flow through the Templeton Gap. The result is a standout terroir for Cabernet Sauvignon, and a vineyard that has become a major contributor to My Favorite Neighbor. The property is 505 acres with 172 under vine, 6.5 x 4 spacing. They don’t hold any certifications but are farming as close to organic as possible without the use of any herbicides or pesticides. The unplanted acres are covered with a beautiful oak tree forest. Bold and memorable, this wine has notes of wet-stone slate, red fruit, cassis, and baking spices, with density and complexity.
